A long-term holding company focused on strategic investments and sustainable growth.
About
Sterling Oaks is funded by permanent capital committed by eleven families. We have no fund life, no clock, and no obligation to return capital by a particular date.
That single fact changes every decision that follows it — what we pay, how we underwrite, and what we ask of the people who run our companies. We are not assembling a portfolio to sell. We are assembling one to keep.
The best businesses reward patience. Almost nothing else in finance is built to wait for them.
Strategy
We look at roughly four hundred businesses a year and buy two. The filter is deliberately strict, because a permanent decision deserves a permanent standard. Below is what actually clears it — and what never has.
What we look for
What we pass on
Portfolio
The rings beside each name widen with the years we have held it. Every company operates under its own name, its own leadership, and its own board. We do not consolidate, rebrand, or centralize.
Partners
Most owners sell once. The process is usually built for the buyer's convenience, not yours — a banker's auction, ninety days of diligence, a financing contingency, and a new logo on the building within a year.
We do it differently, and we put the terms in writing before you spend a day on it.
Days from first conversation to a written offer. We fund from committed capital, so there is no financing contingency and no lender to wait on.
Of your team stays. We have never eliminated a role or relocated a headquarters after an acquisition.
The name stays on the building. Your company keeps its brand, its leadership, and its own board.
We do not participate in auctions, and we do not resell. If a broker is running a process, we are the wrong buyer.
Leadership
The people who meet you are the people who decide. There is no committee to present to and no outside approval to wait on, which is how we can commit inside a month.
